St. Aloysius Parish Funeral Policies
The parish takes great care to see that a funeral liturgy or memorial service is reverent, beautiful and open to the involvement of God's Spirit among us.  Liturgical celebrations create a community so that together we can be consoled and strengthened by God's Word and Eucharist.
The funeral liturgy gathers the parish community the friends and loved ones of the deceased.  We come together as brothers and sisters in faith to ask for prayerful support.  These liturgies serve us best when they are filled with song, words of wisdom, prayerful gestures and moments of silence when we hear the voice of God speaking in our lives.

In this spirit, St. Aloysius Parish offers the following guidelines
for funeral liturgies:

  • The parish provides a funeral coordinator who is available to help with many aspects of funeral arrangements:  vigil service, funeral Mass, cremation questions, burial arrangements, receptions and grief counseling.
  • The parish funeral coordinator will assist you in the planning and selection of appropriate scriptural readings and liturgical music for the funeral liturgy.  The coordinator will also help you in choosing suitable people to serve in the various ministries needed for the service.
  • Music for funerals at St. Aloysius Church will be provided by the musicians of the parish.  In addition to a skilled cantor (who is essential to facilitate the participation of the assembly) and the necessary keyboardist (for piano or organ), we have string players, horn players, woodwinds.  If parish musicians are unable to provide the music for a particular service, other arrangements will be facilitated by the funeral coordinator and/or the parish music director.

Planning a funeral for a loved one is a difficult task and the staff of St. Aloysius Parish is here to ensure that the service
is a beautiful and fitting celebration.
In time of bereavement or to plan a funeral call 313-7005.
