St. Aloysius Parish Wedding Process

marriage-successful...

St. Aloysius staff extends warmest wishes for a blessed preparation experience as couples begin the planning process of entering into a sacramental union. Our Marriage Policies reflect pastoral concern and deep appreciation for the sanctity of a lifetime commitment.

To begin the process:

  1. Please contact Kathy Yates, Marriage Pastoral Associate, at 509-313-7002.
  2. Kathy will explain the diocesan and parish criteria and send out a preliminary packet of information including a copy of parish policies governing weddings in our Church.

Basic Criteria:

Spokane Diocesan norms require that at least one of the parties be Roman Catholic and that 4 months be allowed for preparing for the sacrament of marriage. This entails that your presiding Roman Catholic priest, or deacon, has established your “freedom to marry” and formatted a preparation plan at least 4 months prior to a date being confirmed.

In the instance of any prior marriages of either party, no date can be set until a Nullity Decree is attained through the appropriate diocese. Kathy Yates can answer any questions regarding annulments as well as guide you through the process if need be.
